Address: The
unique location of a page on the Internet.
ADSL: Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line.
Applet: A simple Java program incorporated as part of a web page.
Attachment: Separate file appended to an email message
Bandwidth: the capacity for data transfer across a computer
network. Measured in bit per second (bps)
Banner: The most common form of an omline advertisement.
Bookmarks: A list of a users favourite web sites stored in the
browser.
Browser: A program used to view & navigate the
web.(Eg.Internet Explorer)
Chat Room: Online facility for real time communication using your
keyboard.
Cookie: a small file left by a web site on a visitors browser,
allowing the site to personalise itself if visitor returns.
Dial Up Connection: A temporary connection to the internet via a
modem.
E-business/E-commerce: Business conducted online/Online order
process and any electronic financial transactions that may take place.

Firewall: The technology that sits between the internet and a pc
or internal network to protect it from viruses and/or hackers.
Flame: Abusive email
Flash: Industry standard animated vector graphics technology.
